happening at 8

my favourite thing happened this morning at 8

i woke up earlier from a better sleep. listened to the birds chirping. after musing at the plant by my bed, i took a warm shower and changed for an outside errands' day. balloon linen pants and cropped bra top do bring the day a feeling different from the loose dress. i took the first morning stretches after a long while on the thick, newly laid mat by my opened window. it has been so long since i last sat down for my morning breathes.

meaning to have a good breakfast for myself, i grabbed a hot mocha and a bánh-mì with eggs and vegs. they were both super good. the banh mi was fresh with various type of vegs in it, i felt like a catch to find such a traditional-styled banh mi in the area. and i haven't got mocha for years. it tasted like a gentle hug, and when i wrapped both my hands around the cup it felt just the same. i felt so good. food can change the day.

there were books to return i left on the mat, whereupon the wind, sunshine and shadows of balcony plants lured me over. so i sat there with my full belly, and my good moca, in thin shades of sunlight, reading. 'Wind/Pinball', Haruki Murakami. leafing through it again for some of my favourite parts. this morning took me to the one about Derek Hartfield. 'What's So Bad About Feeling Good?', 1936. i will try reading him one day. these two short novels, Hear The Wind Sing and Pinball are the very first works of Murakami. i like them so much. if i was the queen, he'd deserve all the medals. and Alfred A.Knopf made such a distinct hardcover.

'What would be the point of writing a novel about things everyone already knows?' - Derek Hartfield

i stopped there for the last sip of mocha before getting ready to go out.

among all the fuzzing details of a clueless morning, i bumped into a fresh graduate trying to get his first passport, as he got a job in Japan. he told me about his coming life in Shizuoka, we talked about some provinces, and i told him about the boat trip from Laos to Chiang Mai, following the Mekong River. the boy gave me a nice bow and a pure smile as we parted.

it's only half a day that passed by, i took a good lunch, i have other things to do, but i doubt anything would be as magnificient as the happenings of 8 today.
